  • Going for a walk is always free, and it is one of the best ways to discover the secrets of Cordoba. The city is not too hilly so it is easy to explore on foot. The only caveat is that summer temperatures are hot hot hot.
  • Walk across the old Roman bridge. It’s especially romantic at sunset when the swallows are swooping over the Guadalquivir River.

  • Cordoba’s Mosque-Cathedral, also known as The Great Mosque, is one of the grandest sights in Andalucia. Typically you’ll need a ticket to gain entry, but if you arrive early in the morning on Monday to Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 you can visit the Mosque-Cathedral for free.
  • Wander the small streets and alleys of the old Jewish quarter known as the Juderia. Check out the ancient wooden doors. Sometimes you can get a peek into the leafy patios.

  • Calleja de las Flores is one of Cordoba’s most famous sights. A small street decorated with colorful flowers in pots, it’s a popular place for photos and selfies. Come early in the morning if you prefer to photograph without a crowd.
  • The Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos is an ancient fortress in Cordoba with a lot of history. The vast gardens are a lovely place to spend an hour. Entrance is currently free on Thursday afternoons. Check for the exact times as they change with the seasons.

  • Museo Bellas Artes offers free entry for EU residents. Don’t forget your passport!
